Ireland has been Smurf’d in 3D! The new movie, The Smurfs, is out in theaters now and we’re rather intrigued by these little blue creatures. So intrigued, we’ve got our own set of Smurf Costumes replete with a jumper, trousers, shoe covers, mittens and a headpiece!
If you’re anything like me an hour and a half of watching the smurf’s film will have you replacing every second noun and pronoun in your vocabulary for hours.

This may be the inner child in me but this new movie will definitely be on my “to watch” list. Later this year sees the release of the new Winnie The Pooh movie. Featuring all the old favourites Winnie, Eeyore, Tigger, Roo and Christopher Robin are all back to entertain and enchant kids and adults with a new adventure.
It’s hard to believe we’re into 2011, but here we are!
2010 was a really big year for costumes, with costume parties becoming more and more popular. From hen and stag parties, birthdays, festivals and community events, costumes and accessories are really becoming a fun and cheap way to throw a party!
As always Pirates are a major costume theme. With the release of the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie, pirate themed parties are sure to stay a firm favourite.
Another big movie due out this year is Twilight: Breaking Dawn. Prepare for there to be a rush on all things vampire! Fake teeth, official Twilight costumes, fake blood, Twilight contact lenses and anything else to make that perfect Twilight party theme.

The official trailer for the latest instalment in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise has just been released. It looks like the fourth movie in the series, “On Stranger Tides” is back with a big bang and sure to live up to the standards that the others held so well.
The fourth movie sees the return of the quirky captain Jack Sparrow when he crosses paths with a woman from his past played by Penélope Cruz. She plays a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the legendary Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard played by Ian McShane, Jack finds himself on an action packed adventure.
On Stranger Tides is being shot in 3D and is set for release in 2011. Are you going to be first in line to see it??
June 2011 sees the release of the long-awaited movie, “The Green Lantern”. Based on the DC comics superhero the screen adaptation is set to be the next big superhero movie since X-Men, with amazing effects and the first era of “digital costumes”.
The movie tells the story of a test pilot (actor Ryan Reynolds) who on witnessing a UFO crash is bestowed a mystical green ring that gives him numerous superpowers along with membership into an intergalactic police force whose mission is to keep peace in the universe. Actress Blake Lively makes her first big-screen debut in this movie, along with established actors Carol Ferris, Peter Sarsgaard and Mark Strong.
We’re busy receiving in thousands of new Halloween Costumes, and one that grabbed our attention was the Officially licenced Gingerbread Man costume from Shrek 3. It’s a simple full- body costume, but really effective and globally recognised.

28th of July sees the opening of the movie Karate Kid. The latest installment, aimed more at children than it’s predecessors, sees Jaden Smith as the young boy sent to China with his mother when she gets a new job. Once there he’s picked on by a bully in his school and turns to the janitor ( Jackie Chan) to teach him the ways of kung fu.
The movie has been well received so far abroad, and marks the start of a blooming career for Smith who’s eager to follow in his fathers’ footsteps.
