Following the multi-million dollar success that was Toy Story 3 earlier this year, Buzz Lightyear and Woody along with some friends took a time out off camera to voice some opinions they have on rival company Dreamworks. Watch the comedy below:

Sunday 25th July to 2nd August marks the dates for the 2010 Howya Festival in Durrow, Co. Laois. The event is otherwise known as the Festival of Friendships. This year the event is incorporating the inaugural All Ireland Scarecrow Championships.

The festival has events running for both adults and children, with sports tournaments, a fun duck derby, table quizes, nostalgia nights, comedians, dances on the green for charity, the famous Crystal Swing band playing and a Wild West night amongst other fun things.

Already taking the American cinema screens by storm is the newest edition to the Disney Pixar’s Toy Story series of movies- Toy Story 3. With previous movies based on the lovable toys belonging to a boy called Andy who come alive when they’re left alone, this movie once more brings back Woody the cowboy, Buzz Lightyear the astronaught, Jessie the cowgirl, Mr. Potatohead, Rex the dinosaur and many more fun characters to join the adventure.

Another event happening at the Cavan Summer Festival is the “Mad Hatter Party” Competition. We’ve mentioned before that Mad Hatter Parties are huge at the moment, and this is just another sign of that. From 1997 to 2001 children’s television experienced the wacky adventures of Tinky Winky (purple), Dipsy (green), Laa-Laa (yellow) and Po (Red). Children the world over were hooked on the multi-coloured creatures and couldn’t get enough. Similarly, adults got in on the craze and everyone knew what “Eh-Oh” meant. The Teletubbies were so big that even a single they released into the UK charts went to Number 1 in 1997.

Thursday April 22nd, 2010 saw the launch of the new Costume Shop premises.

Since it’s establishment, The Costume Shop has expanded and grown far beyond anyones expectations, with thanks to all our customers, our suppliers and of course our couriers for making sure the costumes arrive on time at your door.

With it’s rapid growth, our warehouses were becoming a little cramped so we decided to move on up and give ourselves more space to grow- 25,000 square feet to be exact, and make more room for new costume brands to come on board, to give you more choice. The new building also includes a collection point for customers to collect their order after it’s been placed on our site.

With the movie “Kick Ass” doing really well in cinemas, super heroes have never been more popular, with everyone wanting to mimic their favourite hero or heroine by donning their super hero costumes.

The comedic movie, based on the Marvel Comics’ Icon imprint book centers on a high school nerd named Dave Lizewski who decides to become a superhero named “Kick Ass” even though he has no powers, ability or coordination. Things change when he runs into real bad guys with real powers and the adventure starts.

Super hero costumes have steadily been popular amongst our customers. Whether it’s Superman, Batman, Wolverine, or how about involving the kids as  Supergirl and Spiderman?

Really surprised about the news from The USA that target really dropped a sensitivity bomb and brought out a Halloween costume that manages to offend some of their own loyal customers!

The controversy is based around a costume of an “Illegal Alien” which clearly makes fun of the Mexican population that do not have green cards. In LA in particular where this is a major problem, coupled with the recession, this is likely to cause tension and likely violence during Halloween.

So just remember when getting dressed up and picking out your costume, be a little sensitive towards your surroundings. No point in having fun at the expense of someone else when there are so many costumes to choose from.

I’m getting very excited about 23rd of October and the brand new SAW VI film.
