We would like each customer to be a 100% confident in making purchases from TheCostumeShop.ie. If a customer is not satisfied with a purchase on our site we are happy to offer a full refund on the price of the costume once returned within a 14 day cooling off period, as per the Consumer Rights Directive.
Upon delivery please inspect the items that have been delivered and confirm that the size you have ordered fits perfectly. At the time the item of arriving you must decide to keep and wear the item, or to return the item. Once an item has been worn to a party or shows signs of wear, beyond that of trying it on, it is not longer eligible for a refund. Therefore we ask you to inspect the items delivered, try them on (with the expectations of wigs and underwear which cannot be refunded for hygiene reasons) and decide if you wish to keep or return the item prior to using the costume or wearing it to your party. Please keep the packaging of the item and do not tear it until you have decided you are happy to keep the item.
Should a customer have reason to return a costume they must enclose either, the email received from us after filling in the Returns Form or include your name, order number, date of delivery and reason for your return with your return. This will facilitate us to process the refund promptly orders returned with no information provided cannot be refunded.
Please note that we do not encourage the type of shopping where more than one item is purchased with the intent of trying them on and keeping just one. Where we believe a customer is ordering multiple items with the intention of returning the item orders may not ship and may be cancelled at our discretion. While we appreciate you might like to be the only person at the party wearing a costume or to buy several styles in-case someone else at the party wears the same costume, we are unable to facilitate this due to the seasonal nature of our business.
Please note that returns and exchanges cannot be processed over the counter at the pickup point. However items may be dropped off at the pickup point to be processed by the returns department later.

If a customer wishes to return a product bought on our site we must be notified via our returns form or written letter within 14 calendar days of receiving the item(s) in question. Item(s) must be returned to us within fourteen days of such notification. Item(s) must be returned in the condition they were sent. Returns must include all parts and packaging of the original item to be eligible for refund. Packages must not be torn. Products must not have been worn other than to try on. There must be no trace of perfume, smoke or any other odour. DVD's and decorations may be returned as long as they have not been removed from their sealed packaging.
Costumes that are received outside the returns period will be eligible for a credit note, subject to receiving the goods within Thirty days of the order being received. There are no exceptions made for orders returned outside the returns period.
Returned goods which do not meet the above criteria will be considered as 'In Dispute'. In Dispute products will not be refunded or exchanged. A reason will be given as to why the product is in dispute. We are happy to re-ship such items back at the customer's cost otherwise they will be destroyed after 30 days. Shipping and packaging costs, both to and from us, will remain the responsibility of the customer. We recommend using a tracked delivery service with signature when returning an order. Where the customer instruct the delivery driver to return the parcel to sender a shipping fee will still apply and will be deducted from your refund. Refunds will be for the purchase price of the costume only.
For hygiene reasons there are no exchanges or refunds on personal items such as - False Teeth, wigs and products including wigs, face paint, tights, stockings and body stockings, lingerie, tights, helium canisters, inflated helium balloons, mankini's, underwear etc. Custom made products such as personalised sashes, personalised masks etc cannot be returned.
During our times, please allow up to fourteen working days for refunds to be processed. All returns must be accompanied with a copy of our returns form to facilitate us to process the refund promptly.
The customers' statutory rights are not affected.
